REMINDER: a recent feature has been added to Regionals. If a pair of students wins an event (1st place), but belongs to a team that did not qualify for States, that pair of students (plus an adult chaperone) will be invited to States to compete in their event, for a chance to medal at States as well! So hardworking students on small teams have a chance for some personal success!

Wayne State is a public university - buildings are open to visitors during the day, plus they will be hosting an open house the weekend of the tournament : do not leave valuables unattended in homerooms. We recommend each team have a homeroom parent to remain in the room at all times. 2. Teams will need to clean up their homerooms and vacate them by 3:45 PM. All trash must be collected into the provided bags which may be left just outside the room when clean-up is done. The awards auditorium and adjacent lounge will be available to teams at that time. 3. Wayne State will be offering a variety of tours and activities in the afternoon before the awards ceremony. For example: Chemistry in the Movies presentation will be at 3:30 and 4:30. Planetarium shows are likely to be cancelled due to technical issues. There will also be campus and lab tours offered. We encourage you to check them out! 4. At the awards ceremony (held at 100 General Lectures; 5045 Anthony Wayne Drive) the center rows for students and the head coach will be labelled by team. Please sit in your assigned row(s). Parents and volunteers may sit anywhere in the side wings of seats. 5. Public Safety phone number is (313)577-2222. This is the equivalent of 911 on campus. |
Parking on Campus: use the garage at 61 Putnam Street Parents may enter through the first two driveways of the parking area - a credit card is needed to enter/exit; you will be charged a flat rate of $8.50 for the day (if you exit and re-enter you will be charged again).
